Inspiring for Biodiversity: Empowerment von Bürger:innen durch Bildungsarbeit über Biodiversität

In den letzten Jahren sind Klimawandel und Umwelt zu wichtigen Diskussionsthemen in Europa geworden.
Studien zeigen jedoch, wie wenig Menschen noch über Biodiversität und ihren Wert für die Umwelt wissen.

Aus diesem Grund haben sich GLOBAL 2000 und fünf weitere europäische Partner zusammengeschlossen um ein neues Projekt zu starten: Inspiring for Biodiversity. Dieses Erasmus+ Projekt zielt darauf ab, eine strategische Partnerschaft auf europäischer Ebene zu entwickeln, um Praktiken in Bezug auf Erwachsenenbildung über die biologische Vielfalt zu bewerten und deren Qualität und Angebot zu verbessern.

In "Inspiring for Biodiversity" entwickeln wir eine Reihe innovativer pädagogischer Materialien zu Biodiversität für Erwachsene. Damit das gelingt, erarbeiten wir zuerst eine Studie und einen spezifischen pädagogischen Leitfaden, um die Materialien auf unsere Zielgruppen genauer anzupassen. Das Projekt wird einen Toolkit für PädagogInnen bereitstellen, die an diesem Thema arbeiten und dazu beitragen, den Zusammenhang zwischen Biodiversität und Alltagsleben besser zu verstehen. Ziel des Projekts ist die Steigerung des allgemeinen Bewusstseins für die biologische Vielfalt und den Auswirkungen seiner Zerstörung. Das Material wird der breiten Öffentlichkeit zugänglich sein.

In diesem Projekt arbeitet GLOBAL 2000 mit fünf Organisationen aus ganz Europa zusammen:

Trotz der Herausforderungen, die COVID-19 für uns alle darstellt, setzen wir unsere Projektaktivitäten fort. Nach Abschluss der ersten Phase des Projekts, die aus einer Analyse der pädagogischen Situation in unseren sechs Ländern bestand, haben wir im Juni 2020 mit der Erarbeitung des pädagogischen Konzepts begonnen. Diese zweite Phase ist von grundlegender Bedeutung, um eine gemeinsame Strategie festzulegen und ein Programm zu entwickeln, das sechs Bildungsschwerpunkte zu Biodiversität abdeckt und die Grundlage für die Entstehung 30 neuer inspirierender Bildungsinstrumente bildet. Seit November 2020 steht die Entwicklung konkreter Tools im Zentrum von "Inspiring for Biodiversity".

Inspiring for Biodiversity

Empowerment of European Citizens for Action through Education on Biodiversity

In the past few years, climate change and the environment have become important topics of discussion in Europe. 
However, studies show how little people still know about biodiversity and its value to the environment.

For this reason, GLOBAL 2000 and 5 other European partners, have decided to join forces and start a new project: Inspiring for Biodiversity. This Erasmus+ project aims to develop a strategic partnership at European level in order to assess practices concerning the education of adults on biodiversity and to improve the quality and offer of such.

We want to develop a set of innovative and successful pedagogical material on biodiversity and a specific guide to raise the awareness of European CSOs and other stakeholders. The project will provide a tool kit for educators working on this topic, helping people to understand better the concept of biodiversity and its connection with daily life. The main goal is to increase the general level of consciousness on biodiversity. The material will be available for the broad public.

Despite the challenges that the COVID-19 poses to all of us, we are carry on with our activities. In June 2020, after having completed the first phase of the project that consisted in analysis of the state of the art in our six countries, we have started the second phase.

This second phase is of fundamental importance to establish a common strategy and develop a program covering six educational “focus areas” on biodiversity that will be the base to create our 30 new inspiring educational tools.
